Man pied in face

At E.T. Wyman we are  monitoring attendance and working on reducing chronic absenteeism. Due to this effort, Mr. Rafanelli  is issuing a challenge to all students to be present every day throughout the month of January. If the amount of students present on a daily basis at Wyman averages 85% or higher, Mr. Rafanelli will get pied in the face in front of the entire school in early February!

Wyman school met the challenge!

Reducing chronic absenteeism is not only an ET Wyman Elementary School initiative, but it is also a Warwick Public Schools and state initiative. Chronic absenteeism is a measure of how many students miss a defined number of school days for any reason. The state of Rhode Island defines chronic absenteeism as any student who misses 10% or more of the total school days during the year (or 2 school days per month).
