On October 18, 2022, Wyman 4th graders had the opportunity to take a full facility tour of the Rhode Island Resource Recovery in Johnston, Rhode Island. Wyman students were able to get an insider's look at Rhode Island's Materials Recycling Facility (MRF). This is where cities and towns across the state bring their mixed recyclables. The journey begins at a drop off area at the top floor, where materials are placed onto conveyor belts where they are then sorted and recycled to make new materials. Students were provided with stickers, magnets and bookmarks to encourage recycling statewide!
