***Teacher Appreciation Week Donations*** We already have many wonderful surprises planned for our amazing teachers and staff the week of 5/6 – 5/10 but we need your help! We are looking for the following donations: K-cups, snacks, paper goods, plasticware, napkins, tissues, gift cards (grocery stores, Walmart, Target, etc.), and monetary donations. Please send to school with your child by Wednesday, 5/1/24 in a bag or envelope labeled “Holliman PTA – Teacher Appreciation Week” These donations will be used for the entire staff. For anything you wish to give to your child’s own teacher, please give to them directly. Thank you, Teacher Appreciation Committee

This is a FREE event sponsored by the Holliman PTA. Doors open at 6:00pm. Bingo starts at 6:30pm. Candy donations for our bingo prize bags will be accepted at the door. Water will be provided. Dear Holliman 5th Grade Families We are starting a new Holliman 5th grade tradition - The Gaspee Days Parade! 5th grade students are invited to participate in the parade on June 8th. We will have a "Holliman Hornets of Liberty" themed float. This form is to get an idea of how many 5th grade students are interested in participating. Students will have to be at the formation location no later than 8:30am. Participants must commit to the entire parade which begins at 10:00am and concludes at 1:00pm at a location TBD. You must provide transportation to and from the parade and you must remain present at the parade. Further details will be forthcoming. ***PTA Board Update*** At Tuesday's PTA meeting the Nomination Committee presented the slate for the next two-year term, 7/1/24 - 6/30/26. President - Rachel Messier Vice President #1 - Erin Shields Vice President of Membership - Amanda Slocum Treasurer - Kim McEnery Recording Secretary - Jenn Charbonneau Corresponding Secretary - Stacy Arling We will have our elections at the next PTA meeting on Tuesday, 5/21/24 at 6:15pm. At that time, anyone who wishes can run from the floor. If that happens, we would move to a paper ballot. If no one runs, we will vote on the slate and it will be officially approved. The Nomination Committee has been working hard interviewing candidates for the next two-year term, 7/1/24 - 6/30/26. Tonight they will present the slate they have decided on. On 5/21/24 we will have our elections and we will vote on the slate. At that time if someone who was not chosen shows interest, they can run from the floor. If that happens we will move to a paper vote. If no one runs from the floor then the slate will be officially voted on and approved. Please consider attending these last two meetings of the year. Hello Again Holliman Families! Here are some additional Solar Eclipse Updates. We will now move to outdoor recess and outdoor PE today as we will be dismissed before this event. Families, Holliman will not be distributing Solar Eclipse glasses. If your child comes home with a pair in their backpack from a friend, it is up to you whether or not you would like your child to use the glasses.
